I may have hit a roadblock....a 9 month roadblock....

Soooo....rememeber when I was supposed to get my "visitor"?  WELLLLLL, i never really got the "visitor"....instead i got some plus signs on some sticks after i pee'd on them....4 plus signs to be exact, on 4 different sticks to be exact!!!  Trust me when I say this was completely unexpected, but we are completely undoubtly excited!!!  Its very early, only about 6 weeks....so no cravings.  I hope to stay on the low carb, low sugar path...until i hit the cravings.  I didn't have a lot of cravings with my first pregnancy 7 years ago...i did, however, have a HUGE baby.  10 pounds, 4 ounces...almost 24 inches long.  Even though i had the gestational diabetes test during my 2nd trimester (and it came back ok), my mom always said she thinks I had it because of my giant baby.  Also, with that pregnancy, I only gained 25 pounds.  It was the only time in my life I couldn't gain weight.
I have felt good so far...no sickness, no heartburn....just tired....which stinks because I have loved this energy the diet has given me.  Do you, blogland, know of anyone who did this diet while pregnant.  I go to the doctor next week to discuss everything but I am assuming its safe to continue....that is....until the Double Stuff Oreos begin to speak to me.

I've never met a milkshake I didn't like....except maybe this one I am gonna try thats made of grass....

So, I am 2.5 weeks into this diet and still love it!!  I lost those wonderful pounds that first week, but haven't seen the scale move since....however, i've seen the tape measure move and my clothes feel better so I am ok.  Also, my problem last week hasn't been "remedied", and once that does, i should be down a pound or 3.  So we will see...
Now, my big question is:  whats all this hype about the Amazing Grass Chocolate somethin somethin somethin?  I've read all about it...and all reviews (believe me, I have read 34 reviews) say it tastes GREAT!!  Now, lets get one thing straight.....It took ALOT of chocolate to get me to my current weight, as well as Little Debbie Snack Cakes (OMG, I would bathe in Fancy Cakes if allowed) so you can't go tellin me something tastes just like chocolate...and then it taste like crap.  So tell me, blogland, does this stuff taste good?  Have any of you tried the kid version?  What do you mix yours with?  I am also purchasing a personal blender (kinda like the magic bullet thing on the infomercials) to make smoothies and protein drinks.  I am just apprehensive to purchase this huge container of said "wonderful chocolate grass" and it taste, well,  like grass and not like chocolate.  Does it help in your digestion and can you tell a difference in your energy?  Be honest and help a chunky girl out!  Thanks!

Inches VS. Weight....the ultimate battle for my waistline.

Welp, I haven't lost any weight this week.  None. Zilch. Nada.  BUT i have lost an 1.5 inches off my middle.  I made a deal with myself at the beginning of this week not to get mad if I don't lose any until the weekend BECAUSE....its PMS week.  Usually I gain weight this week every month so I just have to be ok that, at least, I haven't gained this time.  I am focusing on the fact that I still have sustained energy all day (not like the sugar crashes of yestermonth) AND, most importantly, its the only diet I have ever stuck to this long....notice I am just pretending to focus on the positive when really I'm setting fire to my scale when i get off work today.  Stupid scale.

On another positive note, I made an ice cream recipe last night that, with a little tweaking, will be AWESOME next time.  Don't get me wrong, I'm still gonna eat this batch...but i know what I need to change this next time out.  Ingredients were:

1 cup half/half (i noticed the fat free HH is only 1 gs/ 1 gc more than the regular, yes?)
1/2 cup heaving whipping cream (still can't wrap my weight watchers abusing mind around the fact we can use this)
2/3 teaspoon vanilla extract
12 packets stevia (this is where i went wrong...dude, I needed maybe only 6....yikes the sweetness)

blended it with hand-held mixer until frothy and thicker.....dumped it in a freezer friendly container and froze overnight....still yummy and excited to have it tonight.  I only need about 3 bites of it, and then my need for the stuff subsides.  Has anyone ever heard of putting a tablespoon of vodka in it to keep it scoopable?  Til we meet again....which may be prison, because I can feel the PMS course through my veins today.

I scream, I scream, I really effin scream for ice cream!

Oh My Gosh!  7 pound weight loss!!  How stinkin exciting!  The hubs lost 10!!  Our bed sighs a breath of relief when we lay down at night.  I think I need to get out of the habit of weighing myself everyday...I need to just do it once a week because if I weigh myself in the morning and I have gained a half pound since the day before, I am pissed all day.  You know?  One problem we might hit on this diet is beer.  We really only drink on the weekends, and its not in excess but it is later at night.  I also know that I swell like a water balloon if I have beer or anything salty at night....My husband drinks Busch Light and I love Michelob Ultra.  I had 2 this weekend, and noticed I gained a pound the next morning...which came off yesterday so I am good again.  Will this always happen?  That would suck because we love us some college football season!

Lets talk ice cream....for the love of Pete, I love the stuff.  I have read all this Clemmy's stuff, and it is sold NOWHERE NEAR my little town of "DeepFriedanddippedinRanch", Indiana.  Whats a girl to do?  Have you found any other alternatives?  I heart milk, and that has been taken away (and I have tried the Almond Breeze, and just can't do it) so please, i need the ice cream....or someone gets hurt.

Coffee, Tea, or Me....

I made the Pita Pizza last night and they were delish!  I used Pita that had 22 carb, 1 sugar...cheese, turkey sausage which were 0,0....pesto which had 1 carb, 0 sugar....Barilla Sweet Peppers sauce which had 4 sugars per 1/2 cup, BUT since I used the pesto as sauce as well, I only needed 1 tablespoon of sauce per pizza....I sprinkled Flax and Benefiber right onto the sauce....baked it in the toaster oven at 350 for 10 minutes and BAM!  Awesomeness.  I also made one using all of the same ingredients but minus the pita, add a low carb tortilla....I baked the tortilla first with a little spray butter and italian seasoning to "crisp it up"....that, too, was delish!

I have also decided that a cup of coffee in the morning (with benefiber and almond breeze) is the way to go.  It helps keep me full all morning, and not so "snacky".  Oh how i miss my Peppermint Mocha coffeemate creamer though.  Coffee Mate decided just a few months ago to make it a "year around" creamer, and not just at the holidays.  I fondly remember that day like it was yesterday.  Its like God himself opened up the heavens and said "Ok Rachel, your turn."....sigh.  But alas, that creamer has 5g of sugar per tablespoon....and I'm pretty sure I never used just a tablespoon.

Tomorrow is the big weigh-in...We will see how well I have done.  Stay tuned.....

Pour Some Splenda on Me....

So this is my first blog. The only reason I am on here is to follow a few blogs I have found in the last few days.  You see, I have started a journey into the unknown.  A place that I thought I could never exist happily....that's right....that place is Low-carb-ville.  3 days ago, my hubs and I started "The Belly Fat Cure" by Jorge Cruise.  It is essentially a "lifestyle" in which you watch your sugar and carb intake.  A lifestyle I thought "surely I will cheat within the first 4 hours", a lifestyle I thought "surely I will kill the first co-worker who brings in a donut and eats it in front of me"...but surprisingly, it's been a lifestyle that has left me full and satisfied.
You see, I am a diet junky.  I have tried them all.  I believe I dabbled in a diet pill long ago, tried Weight Watchers and Hungry Girl, Atkins....all left me really pissed off by the end of day 1.  I have never been successful on any of them.  Well, I take that back...I have been successful on 2 diets.  One was called the "my wisdom teeth are coming in and it hurts to eat" diet, the other called "The Divorce Diet".  Both were successful in getting the pounds off but eventually the first diet was replaced with "my wisdom teeth don't hurt anymore, pass the McDonald's" diet, and the second was replaced by "I got re-married to a man who can cook the hell outta anything and loves to feed me" diet.  So here I am...happy in my marriage, sad in my waistband.
So, what I plan to do is post some awesome recipes and advice I have found to help me in my journey into the unknown....a life with limited sugars...a life of no Wonder bread and Ghiradelli brownies. My dad is diabetic and I don't want to be but I am/was on that path.  I'm hoping that through diet and resouceful blogs and postings I find, I can pave a different path....a path that will make me look good in clothes again.

Some rules to live by if you read this:

1.  I ain't write no good.  Meaning, I write like I talk.  So if you plan to sit down with a red marker and underline every misplaced comma, run-on sentence, dangling participle, non-capitalized letter...just know you need to keep some windex handy because your computer screen is gonna be covered by the time you are done.
2. I use "..." alot.
3.  I cuss...alot.
